LKF Mojitos! - Sep 16, 2010

Guess what? Ladies’ night tonight, where the girlies can get crunk for free! I made sure to do some research before we headed out, because I was not looking forward to drinking those disgusting Cosmos at Club97 again. I found information online about bars that serve mojitos, vodka mixers, and other more bearable drinks.

Chin met up with us at HKU, and pimped it up with us as we headed out to LKF. He doesn’t get to be in the picture because he’s the photographer, sucka. Peter and Will were planning to pregame before meeting us, and some of the girls needed to leave early because they had class the next day, so we took off first.

We found the bar that serves Mojitos, called La Bodega, but the free drinks didn’t start until 11PM, so we tried to find another bar where we could hang out and kill time before going back for mojitos. After standing around outside Club97 debating whether or not we should go in for some killer Cosmos, we saw a signboard for a bar called “Otto” that serves free champagne and vodka mixes. Champagne is gross to me too, but we REALLY didn’t want those cosmos, so we went into a shady building to get to the 4th floor for Otto. There was practically nobody there except for a group of European girls who were already drunk off their champagne, dancing wildly barefoot around a pole. They took some random pictures of us, so I took one of them.

Chin was the only guy in the bar, sitting at the end of our couch like a little creeper. He looked so awkward as the only guy without a drink, so he fit the creeper look. At least he was with us, so he didn’t look that shady. I couldn’t get him to pose with the stripper pole because he wasn’t drunk yet, but that day will come! Chin also dubbed this bar the “lesbian bar,” because all we saw were girls. Nevermind the fact that we were there really early in the night so the party hadn’t started yet, and nevermind the fact that there actually were guys, who were just standing outside on the balcony. Whatever helps you sleep at night, Chin. :D

After a while, some of us got comfortable enough to get up and dance with the girls.

Before we knew it, the clock struck 11, so we booked it out of Otto for our mojitos. Ladies had the choice of ordering either mojitos or sangria, but the sangria wasn’t that great, so we stuck with the mojitos. Damn, the mojitos were GOOD. The bar wasn’t packed enough for us to sneak our drinks to Chin, so he ended up buying his own, which I made sure was his first and ONLY drink of the night because it was such a large cup. You can already tell he’s turning pink!

I liked the taste of the mojitos a lot, so I can’t really remember how many I drank that night (I think peter stopped me after 4 mojitos).

I’m going to say that throughout my pictures, the more hot-mess I look, the more buzzed/drunk I was. This was intentionally creepy.

But this was not.

Peter and Will finally arrived to the scene, already pretty buzzed.

Group picture of us as the night went on (the girl to the left, Mary, is half Japanese/ half Taiwanese, pretty neat):

Peter kept asking me to go up to get mojitos for him so that he could drink it, but I think I ended up drinking some of it instead. The bartenders crush the mint with a giant stick!

The only person I know in this group who gets crazy Asian glow is dear Lobster Lily.

I think all we really did was drink and cam-ho. It’s so much fun to cam-ho when you’re drunk. :O

Oh there you go. Now Peter’s drunk too! Mouth WIDE open.

I think this is when things started getting creepy. I saw Alan holding my camera and taking pictures, and I wanted to photobomb them, so I posed with the quickest thing I could think of.

I’m slightly ashamed of this one.

But at least I’m not posing proudly with a purse as if it were my own, like Alan is.

The CUHK girls who Peter knew met up with us as well, and Finnie, the one at the very right, got so drunk that she started telling me she loved me.

“I know I’ve only known you for an hour, but I love you!”

After the free mojitos ended, we headed to Club97 for a little bit and got free Cosmos, but I put it back because it was that nasty. The next stop for the group was a restaurant for food, but Leanne, Lucie and Mary wanted to go home. We walked away from the food group, but not before realizing that Chin had my keys and money, so all four of ran down the hill to find him, screaming his name and with arms flailing outwards. It was like a movie scene, one where a mother is running down a hill after a rolling baby stroller.

We found Chin, got my stuff, and finally got into a taxi to go home. I felt sorry for the taxi driver, who had to deal with a car full of drunk kids, but I tried to sober up for his sanity. Leanne didn’t do so well on that part, repeatedly saying saam gai (Third street) really loudly, even though the taxi driver knew how to speak English. He eventually put his hand up and asked her to be quiet, which was funny. Apparently, after I dropped her off on her bed so she could sleep, she started to practice Mandarin while she was sleeping. HOT MESS.

I got my LKF fix, but let’s just say the effects of the morning after were VERY similar to Hoopla party effects. -_-
