Condom brands here look like either cigarette boxes or juice boxes. Would you like the French Kiss flavor or the one on the very left that looks soybean flavored?

Today was the day we promised Chin we would visit him and his school in the boonies. Peter and I met up with Chin first in Mong Kok because he needed to mail his postcard since he couldn’t seem to find a post office in the forest. We wanted to eat lunch first, so we went to the food court in Langham Place and were immediately drawn to the delicious smell of pepper steak. We gave in.

Looks freaking good, right? It comes sizzling and you’re supposed to cook the meat and mix it together with the rice. I got the cheapest thing on the menu, the pepper beef (because I’m cheapy cheap,) but next time I’m going to get Peter’s, which was the most expensive Pepper Steak. I tried a bite of his and it melted in my mouth like ice cream.
We met up with Leanne after lunch and took off on the long ride on the MTR to CUHK, where we waited for a more ghetto subway train that is actually outside. They don’t have glass doors blocking people from walking into the track, but I suppose it’s a lot easier to avoid getting run over when you’re outside. This is at the Kowloon Tong stop, where we have to take the green line to University.

While riding on the train, we travelled further into nature and away from the city. It was kind of nice to have a day away from urban congestion and angry people, but the weather definitely wasn’t cooler like Chin kept claiming. Peter wanted to kill him for the lie.
We finally made it to the school, where we found out that we had to take a shuttle up the mountain to get to Chin’s dorm. Chin lives like a monk on the mountain top. He also gets a statue of liberty clone, except this one has funky hair. Why does her hair blow in one direction? Totally classic HK haircut, btw.

It took us a while to find the shuttle stop because of Chin’s poor sense of direction (LUB!), but we found it. It’s not air conditioned like the ones at HKU, so the three of them sat in the bus melting away. I guess having anemia benefits me in HK, because I don’t get hot too easily! Peter used my cheap Mannings brand tissue and littered at the same time he was wiping away sweat because it kept coming apart on his face, so he took one of Leanne’s Tempo because they are more durable.

Chin had no idea where his dorm is, so we got off on the wrong stop and got back on the bus before finally finding it. He does have a pretty nice view of his mountain from his room. Too bad this is just his temporary dorm before he gets moved somewhere else when school starts for him.

We were starting to wilt a little from heat, so we took a quick cam-ho pic and headed to Sha-Tin, the city closest to CUHK.

We exited into a fancy shopping mall, where we checked out Zara and took a picture with a paper rose dress. I get bored at expensive shopping outlets pretty easily because of how unwilling I am to spend moneys. :( I already dislike the place because all the toilets in the public bathrooms are squatters except for one. >;[
We headed back to Mong Kok because Peter and Chin wanted to check out Trendy Zone, and then looked for a place to eat. We ended up at a hole in the wall restaurant called “Eat Together” that served noodles where you can choose your toppings, and each ordered gigantic bowls of food. WE EAT TOGETHER AT EAT TOGETHER! Thank goodness for my ability to semi-read Chinese! Most hole in the wall restaurants only have their menus in Chinese, but we did alright.

We headed to the big Hui Lau Shan that Chin kept saying existed, and I was surprised to hear that he actually found it. I have to admit I had no faith in there actually being one, but I suppose Chin has it in him! ;D

Steph, here’s Aaron Kwok for you! This poster is in large size everywhere. I can’t take that poster home, but here’s a picture of his never aging self and surprisingly nice body.

We stopped and looked around at a Wellcome grocery store (for the longest time I thought the ads for the store were terribly misspelled, but I should have more faith in HK grammar/spelling). The bacon here is pathetic. Look at how much meat there is?! Where is the frying goodness?

And the Dreyer’s ice cream? It’s half a quart, so pathetically sized and oh so expensive. I kind of miss American ice cream.

Holding onto two handles on the MTR looks a bit S&M-like, doesn’t it? But Chin’s a dirty ho anyways, so I’m sure he liked it.
